Iranian Filmmaker to Create “Lord of Alamut”

TEHRAN March 7 (Mehr News Agency) -- The Iranian director Mohammad-Ali Najafi said that he planned to shoot his new film “Lord of Alamut” in the next Iranian calendar year.

“The film will portray the life of Iranian fighter Hassan Sabbah and his struggle against the Moguls. It will also focus on the problems inflicted on Iranians during the Mogul invasion of Iran,” said Najafi.

Najafi’s credits in this field include the TV series “Sarbedaran” depicting another chapter of the Mogul invasion of Iran. The series was broadcasted by IRIB Channel 1 in 1982.

“If historical themes are offered in a new shape and an appropriate structure, historical films will be welcomed by the audience,” Najafi noted.

He also intends to make another movie entitled “Lovers of the Third Millennium” which will focus on a social theme.
